Thew Arnott, specialist ingredients supplier to the food, confectionery and personal care sectors has strengthened its technical team with the appointment of Chris Groom as Technical Manager and Charlotte Kettle as Technologist.

Chris and Charlotte join Applications Technologist Verity Clifton who has been with Thew Arnott for almost 2 years and Rebecca Dolby – Technologist.

With more than 20 years FMCG technical experience, primarily in high risk food environments such as dairy, meat, ambient stable and dry goods sectors, Chris was previously Food Safety Technical Manager for Morrisons Manufacturing.

A Harper Adams Food Technology graduate, Charlotte has been working for the last five years in the chilled ready meal industry at Rowan Foods (now Oscar Mayer Group) in technical roles.

At Thew Arnott Chris will head up the expanded technical team with responsibility for managing the risk of incoming raw materials and developing the company’s TACCP and food defence systems. Thew Arnott’s extensive product portfolio includes many organic, natural, sustainably sourced, non-GM ingredients including confectionery coatings, starches and Lecithin developed to support food manufacturers in making clean label declarations in finished products. Chris will also be leading a continual improvement programme for the company’s quality and technical systems, applications and services to support the company with expansion into new European and US markets.

Charlotte’s role will be to support the sales team, creating finished product samples, and devising innovative ways to showcase products. She will also provide processing assistance to the team, acting as a bridge between the technical and sales departments.
